The management team bring many years of related industry experience from companies such as Veritas, Siebel (now Oracle), Business Objects (now SAP), LBMS (CA), KPMG, Evolve (Oracle), GoldenGate (Oracle), Siperian (Informatica) and BMC Software.
John Bantleman, CEO
John Bantleman has more than 20 years’ experience in the management of software companies. Prior to overseeing RainStor, John transformed LBMS into a $45 million business prior to its successful NASDAQ flotation in 1997. Today’s LBMS’ technology is now part of CA’s product portfolio. The following year John was instrumental in the launch of Evolve, and drove the company through to a successful IPO on NASDAQ.
Returning to the UK in 2003, John spent 12 months working on the advisory boards of venture capital organizations such as Apax Partners. He joined RainStor Inc. as Chairman in 2004 and became CEO at the start of 2007 and relocated back to the US to head-up worldwide operations in 2009.
Jamie Andrews, CFO
Jamie joined RainStor from Lagan Technologies, where he was Chief Financial Officer and helped grow the company to more than £10m turnover and 230 staff in 2007.
Jamie started his career with KPMG before becoming Financial Controller at BSkyB, where he was responsible for the financial aspects of various business development activities.
Andy Ben-Dyke, CTO
Andy was one of the founder members of RainStor and a driving force behind the original data management technology before becoming the Product Architect in 2006, and then the CTO in 2007.
Andy holds both a first class Masters degree in engineering and a PhD in parallel and distributed computing from the University of Birmingham. He worked in Japan for two years for Mitsubishi Electric, supporting and extending the HP-UX kernel in the Pacific. He then spent 5 years working for DERA (Defence Evaluation and Research Agency), quickly becoming a Principal Scientist within the Parallel and Distributed Simulation group. During this time, Andy helped develop the core IP that led to the creation of RainStor Inc., as well as managing a range of long-term projects with a total value exceeding $10M, spanning multiple organizations.
Julian Cook, SVP Business Development
Julian has more than 15 years’ experience in the IT industry, working in a variety of senior marketing, business development, product management and consulting roles for blue-chip and early-stage technology companies. He started his career in management consultancy, working for Andersen Consulting, Deloitte & Touche, and PwC leading global eBusiness projects across the USA and EMEA.
Julian joined Siebel Systems in the USA in 2001 with responsibility for product marketing of Internet Applications. More recently Julian was VP Marketing at Vecta Software Corporation in the UK, driving the company’s overall marketing, product marketing and product management strategy. Before joining RainStor, Julian held several interim marketing positions advising early-stage companies. Julian holds a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry from the University of Exeter.
Tim Waterton, VP Alliances
Tim has spent more than 20 years in the IT industry and held senior sales and marketing positions for both established and start-up ventures. As co-founder of Simulus, Tim was instrumental in building the business, which was sold to BMC Software in 2002.
Prior to joining RainStor, Tim served in a range of EMEA sales and marketing positions with BMC Software.
Kevin Crook, VP Products
Kevin Crook has 20 years experience in the IT industry, with more than 13 years experience in product management for software companies. Kevin started his career as a training manager and then moved into product management, working for Holistic systems. He worked through several takeovers, finally moving to Vancouver in 2003 as a senior manager for Business Objects. During his time at Business Objects, Kevin was responsible for managing many different teams, including dashboards and developer tools.
Returning to the UK, Kevin joined RainStor and became the Director of Product Management in 2008.
Ramon Chen, VP Product Management
Ramon has 20+ years experience marketing and product managing software infrastructure tools, applications and databases. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in computer science degree from the University of Essex.
Before joining RainStor, Ramon was VP product marketing of Siperian, a master data management software provider. Prior to Siperian, he was Sr. Director of product management and product marketing at GoldenGate Software, now Oracle. He has also been VP of marketing and product management at MetaTV; director of product and services marketing at Evolve Software and director of product management and marketing at Sterling Software.
Deirdre Mahon, VP Marketing
Deirdre has 20+ years experience marketing start-up and fast growth enterprise software companies. Deirdre holds an Economics and Social Sciences degree from University College Dublin, Ireland.
Prior to joining RainStor, Deirdre headed-up corporate marketing for GoldenGate Software which was acquired by Oracle in 2009. Other start-ups include Extricity Software which was later acquired by Peregrine (now HP), Evolve Software acquired by Primavera (now Oracle) and Synon which was acquired by CA. Throughout Deirdre’s career, she has focused on shaping new market segments and building credibility by leveraging joint success with large global ISV’s and Fortune 500 customers.
Anthony Brooks-Williams, VP Sales
Anthony has more than 15 years’ experience in the Information technology and enterprise software market with proven success in business development, sales and executive team leadership. Anthony’s key responsibility at RainStor is concluding and then driving revenue from key partners. Prior to RainStor, Anthony led business development for “Data integration”, at Oracle, post Oracle’s acquisition of GoldenGate Software where he was responsible for strategic partnerships in key verticals. Prior to GoldenGate, he founded Coherent Software Corp, which developed “LogPI”, an award winning SQL Server Auditing and Recovery solution deployed at enterprises worldwide. GoldenGate Software acquired Coherent in December 2005. Originally from South Africa, Anthony has an executive MBA from business school.
